When You Finally Get That A-Ha Moment in Life!
We all work hard in our lives, in our careers, we live in a society where we are taught to hustle every single day to “make it.” I have been hustling for a long time, maybe even too long, I can get obsessed at times. I am all about the four-hour workweek. I’ve read the book and many like it and I don’t intend on hustling for the rest of my life and that’s probably why I’ve worked hard for the past few years. I’ve relinquished my social life and even slacked off at the gym because my hustle meant that I had to do what it took to realize my dreams. I’ve been hustling for so long that it took me a minute to consider the fact that I was already there.
Today I received a post on my Facebook from a friend who purchased my newly released book and wanted to let me know that she was “pumped to read it.” It was at that moment where I stopped the project that I was working on and thought, Holy Shit I think I just did it. I sought out to published a book and now it’s loose in the world. People are literally purchasing it and reading it. My mind was blown and I almost cried.
I think sometimes we work so hard and push so hard in our lives that we fly right by the fact that we need to pause now and again and just enjoy the moment. It occurred to me during this process that I should be enjoying the fact that I just published a book instead of continuing to slave away. It’s a huge accomplishment, but up until today, I have barely breathed. I just keep pushing forward.
I must say… I love my life. I’ve worked hard to get to where I am and I have the freedom to work from home and do what I love. When I wrote, You Taste Like Whiskey and Sunshine, I wrote it because I believed in the message. I believed that it would not only change my life but others as well. Now, this is my time to sit back and enjoy the moment. To take a huge deep breath and let it out slowly and say, “I made it, I finally made it.”
So, what was you’re a-Ha moment? When did you finally realize that your hard work had finally paid off? I would love to hear what your A-Ha moment was as I’m a firm believer in empowering others and helping them get to the next level in tehri lives.
